It was a CRAAAAAAZY last point.
SEVEN deuces.
Djerk added racket abuse to his repertoire.
Boy as a Fed fan, I have never watched a Rafa match from beginning to end like this one. Nadal, boy, what can you say about him. He was just too good today. He hung in there, he dug deep, and he came out with a win. Dont like Djoker but give him his props, he went out there and faced down an opponent that was just too good today. Rafa had answers for everything that Djoker threw at him, including as the commentators said, the kitchen sink, and just could not get anywhere in that third set. I think he had break point opportunities on all of Rafa's service games in the third set and could not convert ne'er one. Then, when he goes up to serve, Rafa breaks him at will. Man, that was some match. anyone else think that Fed is sitting somewhere being fed bon bons by Mirka and smiling - LOL - this is why I love tennis. Bet any money Djoker wanted to retire in the third set, but just could not.
He was killing his racket in frustration. He was so close in hitting himself over the head with it and retiring.
cate so true, at one point, when I saw him looking at his box and shaking his head, I was like, yes, if you want to be No. 2 and then No.1, you are going to have to beat me in my house. Talk is cheap hombre, no
Djokovic can't beat Nadal on clay - I don't think anyone can, but Rafa's days as #2 are coming to an end anyway. Novak will move past him once the tour moves away from clay.
Rafa played great. Novak who looks very promising on clay as well had a wonderful match against him. Actually to even get a set out of him is amazing. Roger and his easy matches up to this point might not be so good. I know Rafa is tired from a grueling 3 sets but he is primed IMO. I hope Rafa can go on and win it all.
I want to hear the interview of Novak's publicist who said that Novak is the one to beat Nadal on clay. Way to eat his words.
Were the Djokovic parents there? I don't remember seeing them -- the crowd was behind Nadal ALL THE WAY.
Looking forward to Rafa vs. Roger! It's an understatement to say that the Rafa-Nole match was superb. Allez Roger! Rafa won't have the excuse of being tired this time.
Craig, will there be really be more? It's less than half a day to the next match :)
What's with the Novak haters over here? What, you've never seen Federer slamming his racket when he was few years younger? :) For the first time I payed online to watch the tennis match live, and boy am I glad I spent my money on such a good match! Rafa's one of a kind, but also credits to Novak for some amazing shots. I think his unforced errors decided his match, nonetheless I think it's awesome to see the rivalrly of another player to add to the repertoire so far consisting of Nadal-Federer. French Open's gonna be awesome, I'm certain!
I like Novak's game. It's his attitude I cannot stand.
And for that reason, I'd rather watch a Rafa-Roger final than that other person.
rabbit, I got preoccupied and didn't get a chance to write more.
It was a good match. I'm happy with the outcome.
