I don't know if Andy Murray should be too excited that John McEnroe has tapped him to win a Slam in 2009. After all, he predicted Novak Djokovic would become the next No. 1 after Roger Federer. That didn't work out too well.
Meanwhile, Marcos Baghdatis (remember him?) has pegged Jo-Wilfried Tsonga as the next first-time Slam champion.
I hope the player on the verge of dropping out of the Top 100 is more prescient than the multi-Slam winning tennis legend.

Both could be right, but my money is on Johny Mac.
I watch Tennis casually enough to know that kid - Tsonga! Tsonga!! Tsonga is a champion in rev01.
Murray has improved to a watchable level but I ll be suprised to see him grab a slam.
Bring on 2009.
Compliments to all in here.
Daxpin - you should take a second look at Murray. He may not be as aesthetically appealing or as awesome as the top 3, but he's good technically, and excellent tactically. That combination is a rarity in the modern game, and gives him a leg up on 99% of the competition. At this point, the top 3 have only pedigree in their favor, the rest is advantage Murrary.
I'd be very surprised if he didn't take a slam in 09.
