India's chances of reaching the next stage of the Federation Cup however have been dealt a major blow with the late withdrawal of Mirza who cited a tear in abdominal muscle as the reason for pull-out.

To me it is heartbreaking to see how sad she looks, and so soon after a slam win.
I hope the surgery goes well and she is soon on the road to recovery.
