Woman For All Seasons

Sure tennis spans the calendar, but Mary Carillo is everywhere! I just heard her commentating a dog show on USA network. She's covered figure skating as well. During the winter Olympics, in addition to her own segment, she was a studio anchor. Where else have you seen or heard her?

Thought I saw her on the tv commentating during the big horse races, the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont, in place of Charlsie Canton (don't know if I spelled her name right).

She works with Bob Costas on HBO Real Sports, which is pretty serious journalism. She's phenomenal there, as she is everywhere else.

She really is ubiquitous.

Her dog show commentary was funny. It sounded like she was being educated by the other guy and that was her role.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear her last night as well during the dog show. I almost missed it and I caught it in my favourite group, the Working Group. Unfortunately, I fell asleep so have no idea who won. That new breed was a fantastic looking dog. I hope he won. Who was best in show, does anyone know?

I didn't watch the whole show, Karen.

Sussex Spaniel was BIS.

Karen, you like the Working Group? Me too, but my favorite is Herding. Hardly any winners have come from the Herding Group.

Real Sports is hosted by Bryant Gumbel - Costas Now is hosted by Bob Costas, and Carillo is a regular on Real Sports.

I just love the sound of her voice....no matter what she's commentating on. She's fantastic the whole way around!
