Kristof slamming his racquet down three times and breaking it in half was the highlight of the little tennis I saw today.

I was able to catch a little of that match, wasn't Vliegen up a break or two in the third? Or was it the second? Either way, I just know from what I did see, he should've finished the match off.....can't stand Ljube head.

Vliegen lost the last 5 games of the match.

It was a total meltdown.

Marissa said...

Craig, lack of conditioning or did the moment get to him?

Craig Hickman said...

Marissa, it was a gargantuan choke.

I loved how Vliegen crushed that racquet. Man, that made Federer's racquet smashing look like nothing. That racquet broke. At the end he was left holding the base of the racquet in his hand. It was very Marat-like. It was good to see the other players enjoying the matches as well. They looked so relaxed out there. I like Liubijic (sp?). Think he looks like a really nice guy.

Karen, Federer smashed is racquet with one hit.

It took Vliegen several hits to crack his. I know it's clay and all that, but a person who can smash their racquet on any surface with one swing is strong with rage.

Karen, Ljubicic may be a nice guy but I'll never forget what he said about Rafa after losing to him at RG a few years ago.

Kristof gets two thumbs up for actually breaking the racquet in half. I mean, he had it in two pieces - one in each hand.

Fed, while admirable use of force - only one thumb up.

You guys are hilarious. Which of us here do not have rage pent up inside of us. I know that I have smashed racquets on occassion especially when you are feeling frustrated. Goes with the territory completely

I have no use for Ljubehead. None at all. Dissing Rafa, dissing Andy Roddick years ago - I'm quite happy when he gets beat by anyone. He may seem nice, but I've seen the cranky pissy side of him too, and it ain't pretty.

Ljubicic is one whom i used to call "Roger's Musketeers"...

or ljubicic is the ever-loyal D'Artagnan....

protective of his "lord and master" ("roger friend"..."the only reason rafael wins is because he is a leftie"..)

ljubicic is one of those very uninteresting, stolid players who "came into his own" as world number 4 or something years ago -- and declared HIMSELF "i am the second best player in the world behind roger federer"....

due to a DEARTH of real top ten quality players ...and he's on the same company as the likes of Davedenko, youzhny, blake.......

bench warmers as top ten -- i call them.
