Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory should be your heading. I'm still mad at him. Just ugh!
I know you are, Pamela. I know you are.
saw that match in part .
nothing that lapentti did special although he's been a pretty good veteran .
but it was DEFINITELY all "SAFIN SELF_DESTRUCT".
what was an "IMPERIOUS" second set lead (eurosport) - of 4-0 , 2nd set....winning it, then MATCH on his serve was almost criminal to let go.
in the space of ONE match was seen the Safin of Potentially MANY majors and tour dominance and the safin of pedestrian mode.

That's pretty much Safin post 2005 Oz Open. The amount of heartache this guy has caused me is unbelievable.
He is a living paradox whom you just can't choose to hate.
so TRUE, REEM.
PARADOX is the perfect word for Marat Safin.
a MAGNIFICENT GENIUS one moment -- and a pedestrian nobody another moment..
let's hope he gets ANGRY at this - calms down - and puts his mind and heart and body to the work he knows he CAN accomplish still, win more titles and even majors.
as for ME -- i never give up on a player until the day he decides it's REALLY over.
Luckily for Marat, even in defeat, he's *so* hot.
