André Roddique* makes the 3rd round of the French Open, his best showing at Roland Garros since he first played it in 2001, without dropping a set.
Excuse me while I go collect my jaw from the hardwood floor.

Andy Roddick is also sexier than Roger Federer. let that be clear. ok?. lol.
and it's time for Andy to TOP roger.
Not surprised at all. His showing at Madrid was solid. Only two games but solid. Way to go, Andy!
Though I'm often turned off by his on-court personality, I'm loving the resurgent Andy- started over a year ago, and the media that once made Andy their darling now seems to be willfully ignoring the fact that Andy is an elite player again.
Monsieur Roddique is more Fraunch than zee croissant.
Vamos, American clay monster!
Gicquel should be more of a challenge, but I have high hopes. After that, Monfils may be looming, if his knee holds up. That would be a real match for Andy on any surface, not just French clay.
And after that... Federer? I'd love to see it.
Matthew, I'm not even thinking that far ahead.
Marc Gicquel and the crowd will be more than enough for Andy to subdue.

Tennis Vagabond, while I certainly agree with your overall sentiment, even this die-hard fan has to admit Andy won't be an elite player again until he wins another Slam or Masters.
That said, he's having a great season by any standard.
Allez Ande'!!
Love it! I am so, so happy for Andy. Come ON Andy, keep it coming baby!
Thanks Craig (and Moose) for giving me my biggest laugh of the day - Andre Roddique - love it!

because the media does what it does best+
"notice" things EONS LATER than fans notice!!
the media doesn't REPORT -- it PROMOTES -- whatever or whomever is its "darling".

HEHE -- i love that!
Craig
Good point. Let's just say, he's capable of messing up a quarter of a draw/the 1-4 semifinal line-up.
Yes, Tennis Vagabond. And since he's returned to some good form, he's only been in Djoke's or Raja's quarter of the draw at the biggest events.
I think.
Don't quote me on that.
