A 32-player WTA draw with no byes for the top seeds.
Bank of the West Classic got it right.
Wimbledon champion Serena opens against Li Na, while Wimbledon runner-up Venus gets Canadian wild card Stephanie DuBois.
Elena Dementieva and Jelena Jankovic are also in the field.
Maria Sharapova claims she's now 100% and lands in . Whatever that means. She landed in Venus' quarter.
After playing that elite event in Slovenia, the world No. 1 didn't bother with this event.

Is anyone here watching Stanford. Watching the Sharapova match. That girl's serve is crap. It has absolutely nothing on it.
Pemra Ozgen (393) beat Arantxa Rus 63 67(2) 62 today at Istanbul Cup 1st Round. This is the first ever WTA main draw win of any Turkish Tennis player, since Turkish players cannot even reach the main draws if a WC is not provided. Wow!
