The world No. 1 is back.

Andy Murray

The season is too long.

Have at it.

Andy Murray hasn't got anyone who can really challenge him except maybe Davy at the final. Golden boy could win this one.

The season is too long.

You can say that again.

As as fan I've already mentally checked out, I'm sure many tennis players have done the same. As usually happens in the fall, my attention turns to baseball. I haven't watched any of the asian swing tour nor the WTA YEC. I wonder how interested I'll be when the London WTF starts.

tangerine, maybe that's what's happening with me - mentally checking out.

How many years now have we all heard 'the season is too long' and still, nothing is done about it. Isn't that one of the def's of stupidity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? I see no PTB have made any moves to 'fix' the too-long season and address the players' concerns.

Pffffffffft.

You can tell that the season is long when everyone is agreeing, even the fans. Apart from seeing being world no. 1 and Crystal meth gate there really is not much going on. I saw over at ESPN Drucker interviewed some Aussie players from way back then and had them weigh in on Serena gate etc. Of course three quarters of them think she should be banned, while the lone voice in the wilderness took a more moderate stance. Funnily enough none of the 4 were asked about Crystal meth gate. I wonder what their reactions would have been. They also said that the season was not too long and they have no idea what the players are complaining about. Lucky for us those 4 are not running tennis. Idiots.

Hmm, ok, I, for one, haven't mentally checked out of the season :) And many of the tennis players haven't either. Wozniacki or Zvonareva or Venus or Serena wouldn't have put up so much fight in that case.

And I think the WTF will prove that many of the guys haven't either. However much we complain of the ATP, when the players show up, they show up to play. Remember Federer-Murray in Shanghai last year?
